As a Recreation Assistant at the Westchester Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our patients and residents. Our facility is dedicated to providing exceptional rehabilitation and long-term care, and we are seeking a compassionate and energetic individual to join our team. With a focus on promoting physical, emotional, and social well-being, you will help create a fulfilling experience for our patients, while also contributing to their overall recovery and quality of life.
Assist with planning and implementing recreational activities, social events, and outings for patients and residents
Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure activities align with individual patient needs and goals
Provide support with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as needed
Assist with mealtime, including setting tables, serving patients, and cleaning up
Maintain a clean and organized environment, including the recreation room and common areas
Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and staff
Previous experience in a healthcare or social services setting preferred
Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
